To sell your car to Motorspark you will need a few things:

V5C Logbook: This is the vehicle registration certificate, whilst it is possible to sell your car without a V5C, having one will make the whole process much easier.

Service History: Any service history, receipts for maintenance work, and records of any repairs. This helps us to understand the vehicle’s condition and history.

Driving licence: As proof of your identity.

Finance Settlement Letter: If your car is on finance we will need proof that the finance has been settled.

MOT Certificate: If the car is over three years old, you’ll need a valid MOT certificate. This shows that the car has passed its MOT test and is roadworthy.

Owner’s handbooks: Be sure to include any owner’s manuals and any spare keys you may have.

Number plate retention form (V317): Only applies if you have a private numberplate that you’d like to retain. More information can be found here. 

You will need to settle the finance on the car first. You cannot sell a car without paying off the loan, this is illegal. If your car isn’t worth the settlement figure yet, you will have to pay the difference to get out of the existing finance agreement. If your car is valued at more than you owe (positive equity) this will leave you with money to put towards your new car.
